fentanyl

contraindications:
- MAO inhibitors
- respiratory problems
dosing:
- 50 mcg slow push (over 1-2 minutes) loading
- 50 mcg q 30 minutes maintenance
- total dose of not more than 200 mcg/hr
institute continuous cardiac monitoring & pulse oximetry
reversal: naloxone (Narcan) 0.2 mg over 2-3 minutes
