- can cause lung disease
- dyspnea, cough, fever, pleuritis
- predominantly peripheral, interstitial and alveolar infiltrates
- patchy upper-lobe consolidation and pleural effusion -- occasionally
- consolidated lung can have very high density due to iodine.
- DDx: infectious pneumonitis, CHF
- also causes dense liver due to iodine content
