Binswanger disease

  • subcortical atherosclerotic encephalopathy

    • atherosclerosis of penetrating vessels
    • older pts (>60) w/ HTN

    • periventricular + deep white matter lesions
      • a/w BG infarcts, atrophy

    • difficult to correlate CT with functional impairment
