Chlamydia pneumonia


  • Chlamydia trachomatis
    • obligate intracellular parasite
    • features of both bacteria and viruses

  • infection during delivery (previous conjunctivitis or rhinitis)
  • onset of symptoms at 6 weeks (range = 4 to 12 weeks)

findings:

  • hyperaeration
  • linear and reticulonodular densities
  • scattered symmetrically throughout both lungs
  • peribronchial cuffing
