rare condition of cortical thickening of unknown etiology most commonly
seen in the long bones
- 3-59 years
- sx: usu. pain of varying severity, occ. limited ROM, contracture
- insidious onset and chronic course
xray findings:
- cortical sclerosis and thickening that may encroach on the medullary
canal -- looks like wax flowing down a candle
