    variety of degenerative and proliferative changes of gallbladder
  • wall characterized by hyperconcentration, hyperexcitability, and hyperexcretion

  • incidence: 30-50% of cholecystectomy specimens
  • M:F = 1:6

    types:
  1. cholesterolosis
  2. adenomyomatosis of gallbladder
