Signs and symptoms of cord compression show progression within 24 hours or less:

pain
weakness
autonomic dysfunction
sensory loss
ataxia

Diagnostic considerations:

Primary or secondary malignancy of epidural space or vertebrae
Trauma
Inflammatory process
Osteoarthritis
