  • pharyngo-esophageal ("Zenker")
    • cricopharyngeal spasm
    • Killian's dehiscence
    • posterior; if lateral, usually on LEFT
    • Rx: diverticulopexy +/- myotomy

  • mid-esophageal
    • pulsion, not traction (not associated with TB)
    • dysmotility
    • usually asymptomatic

  • distal ("epiphrenic")
    • dyity (incl. DES and achalasia)
    • symptomatic
    • usually on RIGHT
    • Rx: excision + myotomy

  • ** all due to PULSION
