Hodgkin disease: gallium imaging

Initial gallium scan is necessary at time of initial staging to see if the lymphoma is gallium-avid; if not, gallium imaging will not be repeated.

Ga-67 imaging defferentiates active (residual or recurrent) disease from bulky nodal fibrosis, particularly in the abdomen and mediastinum after treatment.
