  • most severe form of renal dysplasia
  • most common cause of palpaple abdominal mass in infants

  • unilateral (90%; fatal if bilateral)
  • ureter/renal artery absent or hypoplastic
  • NOT associated with other cysts or with periportal fibrosis

  • Potter type II
