  • females, middle age
  • deposition arthropathy

  • bilaterally symmetric involvement of hands
  • soft-tissue swelling
  • well-circumscribed marginal bony erosions

DDx:
  • RA -- juxta-articular osteoporosis, DIPs spared
  • psoriasis -- asymmetric, ill-defined erosions, new bone
  • gout -- overhanging edges, asymmetric
