Mounier-Kuhn syndrome

tracheomegaly, tracheobronchomegaly

inheritance: (?) autosomal recessive

clinical findings:

recurrent pneumonia
loud cough
hoarseness
dyspnea
copious purulent sputum production

XR findings:

tracheobronchomegaly (trachea equal to or greater than the width of the tracheal vert. body.
increase in lumen of the trachea with Valsalva and narrowing with Muller maneuver.
saclike recesses
pulmonary fibrosis
bullae
