pneumothorax
- chest trauma and iatrogenic are the most common causes of pneumothorax
- "spontaneous"
- rupture of apical blebs
- tall, thin build (M:F 8:1)
- COPD (ruptured bulla)
- pleural or pulmonary malignancy
- infection/pneumonia
- complication of honeycomb lung
- catamenial
- lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM)
- eosinophilic granuloma (EG)
- neonatal: meconium aspiration, barotrauma
